How fatigued employees affect your business

Tired employees

A decreased ability to cope with stress, less energy and a reduced capacity to concentrate are common traits displayed by those who are sleep-deprived according to an infographic produced by Virgin Pulse, part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.

On average individuals should get around 7.5 to 8 hours sleep per night, however in a survey conducted by Ashridge Business School, they found that workers are actually getting an average of 6.47 hours sleep instead.

In a research report conducted by Virgin Pulse, it’s stated that this lack of sleep is costing businesses approximately $2,000 annually, with 40% of employees admitting to nodding off at some point at least once a month.
