Here’s why we shouldn’t be eating lunch at our desks

Eating lunch at desk

I have to admit – I’m one of those workers who you’ll find tucking into a cheese and pickle sandwich at my desk at lunchtime. It’s a chance to have five minutes to myself and a cheeky peek at BuzzFeed before I crack on with my work. Not a great habit I know.

But according to this infographic I’m not the only one, with 60% of office workers admitting that they regularly eat lunch at their workspace.

And is there anything wrong with that?

Well apparently there is. On average, there are 3,295 microbes per square inch on an office keyboard. When you compare that to a toilet seat that has just 49 per square inch, it makes you think that it’s time to invest in some anti-bacterial wipes!

How clean is your workspace really? Read on for even more filthy facts about our workspaces. I think it’s time for a spring clean…!
